Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon gets a new Z-Move focused trailer, new Rotom Dex mechanics revealed

You'll want to make Rotom your friend.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are officially in the midst of their major pre-launch PR push. Nintendo released yet another trailer, this time focusing on the Z-Moves that both Dawn Mane and Dusk Wing Necrozma can unleash on their opponents. Called Searing Sunraze Smash and Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom are the alliteratively named moves for Solgaleo and Lunala (respectively) and as you can see from the trailer below, they, like most other Z-Moves in the game, have the power to wipe away an opponent in one hit. Check it out:

It's also worth pointing out that Necrozma, whether fused to Solgaleo/Lunala or not, will have a new move that is exclusive to it. Photon Geyser is a new Psychic-Type move that can deal substantial damage to an enemy and dictates how much by determining which of the Attack or Special Attack stats are higher (per PokemonDB). There's currently no word on its Power Rating, Accuracy, or PP, but it seems likely that Nintendo will keep those details under wraps until launch.

Also featured in the new trailer were some added game mechanics for your Rotom Dex. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will allow players to develop a friendship bond with Rotom, and doing so pays off with a few unlockable abilities. For instance, Rotom will eventually be able to influence battle by allowing trainers to use a second Z-Move. Also, for those who grow impatient running back and forth waiting for Eggs to hatch will be relieved to know that Rotom has an unlockable ability that will speed up that process.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on November 17th, 2017.
